Lately, KK has been having night terrors. They seem to happen more when she is overtired. Usually it hits just minutes after I've finally fallen asleep.
I wake to hear her screaming and calling out in her sleep. My heart racing, I run to her room and pull her into my arms. But she is thrashing and crying and nothing I can do will console her. Her eyes are open, but if you look into them, you can tell she's not really in there....she's not really awake. She's having a bad dream and she can't get out!
If I try to wake her, she gets more agitated. Can you imagine being stuck in a dream you can't get out of and on top of it you can hear mommy calling you and you can't get to her???? It is so hard for me to watch.
And then she quiets down. I lay her back in bed and she is deeply sleeping within seconds. But sleep will evade me for awhile now. I wonder if she knew that I was there?
In the morning, she cannot remember anything.
I can really relate to this post. Andrew does the same thing. They all talk in their sleep somewhat but Andrew always screams. It has calmed down now that he is older, maybe it will for KK too? He did it a lot at her age. All I could do was pray for him! Poor little ones, you hate to see them suffer in any way!!
